Who is this guy anyways?
Hello, My name is Rob. While I'm sure I will have met some of you, I hope this site draws many more that I have not.
I am a fairly new face in the world of aerial application, and even more so in the world of website construction, so as this site grows I will be looking forward to all the constructive criticism you have to offer.
So, What's the idea?
The goal here is to create an interactive site for the Ag aviation community. I have seen this idea work amazingly in other forums, and well... not so great in some. It seems to me the two key ingredients are pretty simple. 1) input from the masses, and 2) not so much input (read : censorship, and over controlling) from the site host.
Given those I will do my best to solicit input from all the great Ag minds I've met along the way, and at the same time let this thing grow without putting to much of my own $.02 in!
Need some dual?
I will try and keep things as "user friendly" as possible on this site. As it grows, if there is a need for a tutorial on a subject we'll post that too! In the meantime, if there is any area that is not so smooth to navigate, or a subject you have a comment on please feel free to contact me via email.
Sticky Stuff:
The Liability Game:
While this is intended to be an informational site, it is Not intended to be an instructional site. I'm sure we will gather lots of good information here, and some probably not so good, and certainly some entertaining. Just keep your wits about you, and remember, just because a self proclaimed guru on this site suggests that you will shave 30 seconds off each turn by removing 3 feet from your wings....well you get the picture. We at Sprayplane.org will not be responsible if you crash and burn, or damage your plane or property as a result of actions you took based on something you read on these pages.
"Can't take you nowhere!":
On the subject of conduct, well lets face it, this is probably not bound to be a "family orientated" site. Now while a little profanity, or a picture of the local hottie next to your favorite spray rig never hurt no one, I would just ask that you keep it tasteful. I have no desire to play "Sister Mary", or the grade school principal, so just leave the porn in the porta pottie, and the heavily directed name calling, on the loading pad . For those of you that think someones post might be a little "gruff"...well.... tough! This is the internet, and the vast majority of us are not english majors, my point being that most of the time a persons penmanship is not going to accurately portray their true tone, demeanor, or emotions. Treat it like your talking to a person, rather than mashing keys on the computer, (while waiting for the wind to die down) and it will all be groovy.
Come on in:
On that note I'd like to invite you to come on in and stay for a while. I hope to draw enough folks that we can keep the topics active, and the conversations rolling. Post questions, answers, ads, pictures.... all things Ag.
